Kojax, played by Jacob, swordmaster of Talathees
DescriptionWeighs 160 lbs and stands 5ft 10in tall with dark blue eyes. Unkempt, dark hair falls just past his shoulders. Sports a well-trimmed, dark beard. Kojax is not an imposing physical specimen. However, upon close examination, his slender build betrays whipcord muscle and callused hands that point to his true nature as a first-class swordsman. His eyes are cold -- a testament to both the destruction he has witnessed and the violence he has done. |
History
Kojax was a swordmaster on a ship in the Navy of Talathees. The Navy's tactics involved grappling other ships and forcefully boarding them. Kojax led a group of Navy marines in taking enemy ships at the point of a sword. Kojax was happily married with two children, a boy (7) and a girl (5). They lived in a small farming village outlying the main city.
Background
During the siege of Talathees, catapults that usually faced sea-ward were taken by orcs/ogres and directed inward toward the city. Kojax led a group of marines on a suicidal raid to take back one of the catapults. His off-hand was amputated by an ogre in the battle but the small group was victorios. It was later that Kojax returned to his small village to find every home destroyed and the corpses of his fellow villagers strewn throughout the rubble.
Something snapped in Kojax then, and he has been On The Edge ever since.
Campaign Mentions:
- In Initiates (2022), it's understood that Brad continues to administer the affairs of Talathese, as Kojax is, as is typical, out in the wilds with a small band of Wolves, fighting evil and demanding justice.
Campaign Particulars -- Ur
Kojax aided Brother Saul, Academis and Brad in the recovery of the ancient sarcophagi in the Osiris desert.
Kojax put together a group of marines in the post-razing of Talathees and named them the Wolves. This group was intended to be a special force that could scout/assassinate/raid a larger enemy like the forces of Branok.
Kojax put a crossbow bolt through the eye socket of Red the assassin after learning of General Veronus' death.
Kojax became the Commander of all forces in Talathese hours after the death of General Veronus and moments before the second Siege of Talathese.
Kojax applied a coups-de-grace to Branok, with a riposte through the eye/brain after he had been skewered by Brad's lance and had his helmet removed by Academis.
Kojax fought and was bested by the Assassin demon Gortegag after going 15+ rounds and dealing a non-zero amount of damage. Kojax's thoracic cavity was opened up by the steel scythe from nipple to nipple. He now sports a large scar across his chest from this run-in. A wolf, Gregorious, was killed when charging the demon after Kojax fell.
Kojax laid siege to the HQ of the Black Ether along with Andrew, Academis, Fabian Maximillus and Hyberius (Wolf). Kojax learned the downside of charging mages when he was incapacitated with pain for 60 seconds. After the battle was over, Kojax cut out the eyes of one of the head acolytes and gave a small speech to the remaining acolytes warning them against action against the citizens of Talathese.
Due to his many sword battles, endless training, and instruction in the art of fencing Kojax became a fully fledged Weapons Master.
Kojax cut apart the assassin sailors of Sri after one of them decapitated Andrew. Later, Kojax reminded the Emperor of Sri what it means to destroy a member of the Talathese government.
Kojax assisted in the ousting/assassination of the corrupted Emperor of Sri and the placing of a new Prime Minister to lead the city. In doing so, he and the party befriended Caption Aishani
Kojax had his amputated left hand regrown as a gift from a grove of Druids on the continent of Icelund before ridding the world of the evil of Ahkhad's Helm.
Kojax traveled to Alatyth, the Elven lands north of Talathese, and met with the Elven Queen Wendella to inform her about a terrible plot between demons, the corrupt and twisted Black Ether, and a demon-lord from Sri. Kojax also renewed allied ties with the Elves to some degree.
