A bar in Camlin

Just inside the north gates of Camlin, a large bar and restaurant that attracts thousands of weary travelers every year. The beer is adequate, the prices high.

Crude Shelter along the Spice Road

Along the Spice Road, Travelers' Rest is an occasionally inhabited outpost of civilization in otherwise uninhabited country. It is a circle of fire pits and crude stone shelters, at the edge of a stand of hardy old trees (supporting some game, and providing firewood), overlooking a dramatic stretch of the River Ra as it plummets 1000 vertical feet in just over a mile on its way into the desert.

In busy, profitable years when the weather cooperates, some enterprising merchants set up shop here for part of the year, just to do business with passing caravans.

For caravans headed west, Travelers' Rest is the first source of abundant clean water after a several-hundred mile trek, and the beginning of significant altitude gain headed into the Forgotten Hills.

For caravans headed east, it is the last chance to rest and fill canteens before heading out into the arid desert.

It is known that Gurak and his "dark ones" ply their trade in this area.
