Described in Skyfire as "broad-shouldered, 60-something, barrel-chested, sun-bronzed, loose-fitting white cotton shirt, gray curls held back with a simple wooden headband.", he has an expansive green-grass ranch northeast of Argyle where he raises intelligent all-black horses, including:
- Tang, the smallest, a spry and jumpy yearling
- Nightfire, lean and quick
- Caspar, the massive stallion
- Zena, a calm mare with flowing mane and tail
- Romper, a playful young stallion
He is evidently magic-capable, having applied a dark blue powder to horses' legs to allow them to run at 2x speed for 12 hours, occasionally leaving the ground....
His attractive stone mansion has large windows and sits beside a ruined keep from a bygone era.
