Arcanian Outpost

A fortified lumber camp 80 miles south of Nottingham, established and controlled by Niko Arcanian.

Old growth forest is cut here, and shipped down the North River to the city.

The camp is frequently attacked by the evil denizens of Darkwood, requiring a continuous stream of aspiring warrior recruits to replenish the outpost's defense forces.

As outpost defenses have improved, representatives of the government of Nottingham, typically bureaucrats and tax collectors, are often stationed here. They rarely go beyond the outpost, aside from an upriver expedition every few years to collect taxes from the isolated pockets of hardy primitives deep in the forest.
