Intro

You were with two others of your kind when you were ambushed on your way into the primarily human city, Raal, for supplies. You pulled a hand-cart filled with precious metal ore from the mines. Your companion and translator also had a small bag of uncut gemstones for trade. During the ambush, combat was fierce, but you were eventually taken down by two arrow wounds and a weighted net. Since, you have lost track of time as the bandits usually have a burlap bag over your head. For days you did not eat and you could hear them speaking their infantile language, sometimes at raised volumes. Once one of them came and beat you for a while, but in your injured and mal-nourished state, you could do little to fight back, especially considering the chains on your legs.

Recently, you’ve been taken with them on a couple of raids. They have not removed your chains, and have a strange magical bracer on your left arm. They pull the bag off of your head and leave you standing in the road in front of oncoming merchants. When the horses turn or buck, or the merchant stops, the bandits spring their ambush. The first time, it was all you could do to stay upright and try to figure out what was happening by the time it was finished. The bright sun-light blinded your eyes used to the dark sack, the lack of nourishment sapped your every thought and your muscles ached. Any movements you made caused you to reel, and the seeping arrow wound in your leg didn’t help. After that, they threw you some food from the loot before hooding you, binding you and taking where ever they do. Since you’ve learned if you try to resist, they stop you with the magical bracer which imposes upon you a pain that is unbearable and crippling. Short from tearing off your own hand, you cannot be rid of the cursed trinket. So, to eat and continue living, you assist with the bandits’ raids hoping another will target your brethren and lead to your freedom.

    • You do not speak the common tongue of man and your left leg is crippled from an undressed arrow wound to the ankle.
