In N2, a Lieutenant of Cormire, responsible for a few dozen troopers staffing the upper checkpoint on the Spice Road.
He was broad-faced and bearded, with rubbery lips and drooping eyes. Expecting Vasker's arrival, he'd arranged for a relatively elaborate meal to be set, including spiced elk steaks with wild garlic gravy, fresh biscuits and piquant jams, accompanied by an expensive chestnut liqueur.
Carson offered a flawed salute, and then broke into a grin, with a sweeping gesture to the dining room. "Captain Raiden! Welcome to our modest checkpoint. Please dine with me."
