Ancestry
Gyanne's village revolves around hunting the arctic animals of the Glacial Range and their surrounding areas. Known as the Hunger Clan, they lead difficult lives in harsh temperatures, and survival of the fittest is rings true among the villagers. The clan members maintain a fierce sense of duty and loyalty to one another, despite the individual's crude social skills. Always appreciative of a good brew, the Hunter Clan also knows how to enjoy each others' company in the most dire snowstorms, and many villagers are adept musicians, storytellers, and acrobats. The Royal Family maintains a great hall where the village traditionally meets in the evenings for meals and important meetings. When a villager dies or leaves, the village comes together to commemorate the loss.
Background
After docking at Lowenport some two weeks past, Gyanne continued on her quest seeking the great white furred cat of her dreams. In Lowenport she had paid to stow her vessel and purchased some provisions and supplies before continuing on her quest to the southeast where she heard of a collector of rare animals who frequently resides in the great city of Cormire.
This collector, known as Balkar The Golden is rumored to be a great hunter, yet also a great ally to strange and rare beasts of the realm. Gyanne was told of a tale where Balkar set out after hunters said to be stalking one of the last of the great Nogga in search of it's hide. For it is said a Nogga hide makes the most desirable carriage seats any hind-end has ever had the good fortune to meet. Rumor has it that only Balkar came back from that trek and that he carried with him the blades, bows and spears of those hunters, which he sold to fund an expedition for the relocation of the Nogga to a region deep within the Ozgarn Mountains to where an old gnome had told Balkar he'd seen Nogga sign.
Gyanne's journey had taken her through the northern edge of the Silver Range, where she was accosted by a handful of orcish rabble she easily dismissed by shooting one through with her bow, then as the other rushed in, she speared on through the leg then pounced it in tore out it's throat in a ferocious frenzied spear slash which spattered the ground and remaining orcs with still-warm blood, steaming in the morning chill. This gory display of the bloodthirsty giantess sent the other would-be marauders into a terrified retreat into the craggy peaks of the mountains, where Gyanne could not be bothered to follow such a smelly ugly crew of ruffians. She continued on out of the mountains to the southwest where she found the road leading south into the city of Cormire.
Perhaps a half day's march from the city, at dusk Gyanne planned to hunt up some dinner before camping then continue on to the city at dawn. So, she set about scrounging a bit off the trail for scat or tracks and shortly came upon a rabbit which she promptly bolted through with her mighty bow. As she was approaching the coney, kicking out the last of it's life, a shadow fell over her in the moonlight. It was a beast as she'd never seen. It was a cross between the great furry snow bats that and the ice melting salamanders of her homeland, although it was larger than either. The beast flew right past her as she stared, and it pounced upon her fresh kill then hopped up, beating it's leathery wings as it took to the air and flew back towards the road with her game. Gyanne shouted in rage that she had been duped by such a creature and gave chase to the beast. With her keen hunters eye, during the chase, she noted that the beast suffers a lame wing and cannot fly properly. However, even with it's frumpy hopping and gliding it was keeping just out of reach and in frustration Gyanne has just yelled some northern obscenities at the coney-stealing such and such as she stomps down the dusty trail after the beast.
