Now 25, Wyeth was raised in Philadelphia by his father, Douglas Wilson, after his mother left when he was two. His older sister was kidnapped and murdered four years later, at which point he vowed that one day he would find the killer and bring them to justice.
 
Wyeth worked for his father helping run a jewelers shop, where he worked as a bench jeweler. The shop was renowned for making amazingly ornate pieces. Through this work he met [[Lady Vanderbilt]], as she would often bring by rare and astonishing pieces to be repaired or cleaned.  She would occasionally just pop in to see what Wyeth had made because his pieces seemed to have amazing detail.
 
As a boy Wyeth spent a lot of time wandering the woods, disabling and destroying animal traps, a pastime that he still enjoys.
