This is Natalia Modesta of Talathese. She survived the siege of '06 by fleeing east along the coast, living on seaweed and shellfish and the help of sparse locals, eventually coming back and joining the military. She enrolled in commander Kojax's “Wolves” brigade, and received that elite training for a year, during which time she fell madly in love with Brad. In the spring of '08, when Brad and Aishani were married, she was desperate to attract his attention, and so consulted a wizened sage, who told her of Nord steel, unbreakable swords of the north. It was this she set her sights on, and took a leave of absence to fulfill her quest. She may confide in Hjordis that hers is a quest for love, not an official mission.
