The central object of the Superheroes campaign. The party believes they succeeded in destroying the stones by submerging them in lava at the site of their creation: Zalshir Crevasse

The stones were sought by:

  • The party, to destroy them
  • Lolth (who had a puzzling relationship with Xane) -- Previously conspired with the mind flayers to enslave the upper realms. Planned on betraying the neogi and sending an army of drow into the Camlin-replica city. Then learned of the existence of the party and decided instead to betray the mind flayers and have the party destroy the stone. Upon learning more about the power of the stone (and being a fickle goddess), finally decided she wanted it for herself instead, and betrayed the mind flayers to get it.
  • Mind Flayers - Planned to use the Luma Stone to enslave humans via creation of the replica city with the help of hired negoi and umber hulks. Camlin was the first target. Mind flayers now hate Lolth for her betrayal.
  • Cult of the Dragon - Baxter Bigby, Shung-shih, and friends planned to use the Luma Stones to locate all Great Wyrm dragons and help each attain Dracolich status. Since Githyanki already have a pact with red dragons, a partnership was possible.
  • Namamenes - Had used a Luma Stone for millenia as his phylactery. Now deprived of it, he wants it back, badly. An efreet hunted the party in an effort to retrieve the Stone for him.
  • Githyanki - Discovered a Luma Stone while renovating the Keep of Hashir. Now are using it to increase their power in preparation for a seige in their ancient war against the Githzerai on the far side of the Sea of Death. Githyanki hate mind flayers and have a pact with red dragons.
  • Githzerai - Were concerned about the growing forces of the Githyanki. Once visited by Feng, they researched the Luma Stones and concluded that the Githyanki must have one or more. They gave Feng the amulet of inescapable detection. Githzerai hate mind flayers.
