To be the sentinel, at the age of 12 he was forced to cut off his own left hand as a pledge to remain in his role, and never take another job. For his oath, he was rewarded with great money and prestige. To harden him for war, his training years involved many beatings and cruel worlds, causing him to adopt a callous attitude. Once he had proven himself fully, he was sent to the [[Sorcerers Isle]] for training in magical protection.
