Black Pool

Deep in Ravenwood, four days hike east from Songvar, lies a small extinct volcano. The round cinder cone is shrouded in poison ivy and thick thorns on all but a narrow strip on the south side.

Within the collapsed core, at the center of crumbling 45-degree slopes, lies a pool of warm tar, seasonally covered in steaming rain water.

Forneus, a vicious demon lord, lives within the tar, occasionally emerging to devour those who come to drink from the water.
