Garrick Holt
Garrick Holt, 35, was born and raised on a modest farm just outside Gredding, where he learned farming, animal care, hunting, woodworking, and repairing whatever broke. Over the years, he became an accomplished hunter and knows the countryside around Gredding well, including its trails, game paths, and reliable water sources. He's made occasional trips to Luxor to trade and resupply but has always considered Gredding home. Years of hard work have left him with a persistent ache in his back and joints, though he refuses to let it slow him down. Garrick is gruff, blunt, and not particularly sympathetic—if you're hungry, he'll feed you; if you're tired, he'll let you sit, but he still expects answers—but beneath that rough exterior is someone who takes care of the people around him. He's a workaholic who rarely knows when to stop, and when the water of Sally's Brook begins to foul and reports of the walking dead reach Gredding, Mayor Griswald knows Garrick is one of the few men capable of traveling upstream, surviving in the wilderness, and figuring out what is happening.
