Akhen
Akhen is a wandering warrior for justice who seeks to avenge the death of his kid-sister more than anything else. When Akhen was a teenager, he went camping with his family in a forest far outside of their arid homelands in the eastern edge of the Muhtenkhamen Desert. When vacationing one day, Akhen and his younger sister Poonjab were playing hide and seek. Suddenly Akhen heard Poonjab scream like he’d never heard her scream before, even worse sounding than when she was stung by the scorpion. He ran as fast as he could towards her distancing shrieking, always feeling just out of sight. He lost track of where he was going, or where he had been, focused wholly on the rescue of his sister. Eventually he caught up to the screaming, just as it ended. Just as Akhen burst through a very thorny bush, scarring one side of his face with many horizontal lines across the cheek., he caught a glimpse of her flesh between the horrific rotting bodies of her captors. Then not a breath later, he saw the flash of a wavy blade overhead and his sister stopped screaming instantly. His eyes and mouth couldn’t close, no noise would come out of his throat. Nothing so terrible had he ever seen or possibly even imagined. He staggered backwards into the woods away from the bad dream. Yes, he must have fallen and hit his head, that’s what he told himself. That’s why there is so much blood on his face, dripping onto his chest. His sister is hiding somewhere waiting for him to find her. Of course she won’t make any noise, that would undoubtedly give her away. Akhen searched behind every tree and stump; at the base of every bush he shouted, “I see you!” to nothing more than countless insects, a few spiders and a squirrel. He searched for his sister for the rest of the night and late into the next day before he collapsed of blood loss hunger and fatigue. The next morning he awoke in his father’s arms and all of the sudden the previous 40-some hours flashed back into his mind, he began to ramble and after hearing the tale his father said but one word “Undead.” The walked to the camp and took it down in the middle of the night and left without another word. When they returned home to _______________, they agreed to say to any that asked that Poonjab was living with elves as their honorary guest because of her astounding beauty. Akhen could not live with such a lie and only a few months later when his family moved to another city_______________, he began studying justice and law, and the teachings of Anubis the guardian of the dead. Only months after beginning the training at the temple of Anubis, Akhen accompanied another cleric to rid some ruins of unnatural beings. When Akhen helped destroy the vile undead skeletons in the ruins with his hammer he felt justice being served and vengeance for his sister’s murder. He vowed that day that he would not rest until he sent those undying souls that murdered his sister back to Anubis to receive their rightful ending. He had little use for his parents who live under a lie because it’s easier to deal with than the truth. Akhen began a quest to find these undead, or any undead for that matter and return them to the house of the dead. He also wants to know why they chose his sister. However after only a short time of smashing the skulls of the damned, Akhen realized that adventuring is not cheap and he needed some income to keep himself fed and geared up well enough to continue his journeys. Akhen took a bounty for a pickpocket in ________________. Anubis despises thieves, so Akhen likewise frowns upon shady characters. The bounty was easy enough to find, but a hammer and a stick did not contend so well with the crossbow and the sword of the villain. Akhen overcame the thief, but at no small cost. He spent most of the money he received for the bounty on being healed and buying better armor and a short hooked sword, to better deal with his next bounties blade. He continues traveling smiting the undead when he can, and taking a bounty every now and then to keep himself fed. He has in the last couple years grown distant from Anubis, but still holds some of his beliefs with high esteem and is still watched over by the guardian of the dead.
Akhen has recently been having a tough time finding any undead to slaughter and had to take another bounty in _________________ where a strange old man in red robes asked him to find another man in red robes, a Marckall Coplonra, and destroy him before it was too late. Since the old man, Kranius gave Akhen 50 gold pieces up front and a magic ball to help he could hardly pass it up. He has traveled for 5 weeks from ___________ in search of Marckall, and now rumors have lead him to Trollwood where a new tower is being erected.
Akhen was killed by Krung in the tower of Marckall Coplonra.
