Background

Carrick was born in a small village to a family of farmers. In his childhood, he began seeing a chained and forgotten god in his dreams. Eventually, the god started communicating with him while he was awake. When he would talk about these voices and visions, his family and the villagers would dismiss him as a little bit odd, but he was always a strong and diligent worker. It became harder to dismiss what he said when he displayed the power to heal wounds and cure minor ailments, but these skills were useful to the village.

His abilities did not help when the village was attacked by raiders. Carrick woke up after the attack clutching a well used mace. He healed the few surviving villagers and they fled to the nearest city. Over time the group of survivors went their separate ways, each finding work. Carrick works at a warehouse, unloading and moving shipments. He uses his powers among to help his fellow workers and spreads the tales of his visions among them.

Carrick was arrested after he attacked an off duty guardsman at a bar who had been bragging about his part in the destruction of Carrick's village.
