The Mortal River divides the Plains of Ur from Muhtenkhamen Desert, a super-dry wasteland of varying geologic features.
Its western reaches are flat pale dusty plains punctuated by occasional dramatic buttes and very rare oases, the largest of which is the famous Oasis of Geb.
The north-central region consists of rocky hills, dry gullies, and pockmarked mesas.
The south-central desert is mostly covered in massive sand dunes, all the way to the shore of the Salton Sea.
The eastern desert is defined by the massive River Ra which carries mountain water from the highlands of the Forgotten Hills and Ozgarn Mountains and supports a 10-mile wide strip of green in the otherwise dusty landscape.
