From Ur Campaign notes:

The jungle is dark, with universally covering canopy up to 200' above. Little ground cover (no light) but for massive-leafed ferns, huge trees. Birds and monkeys in the canopy. Mangoes, papayas, kumquats, etc. Afternoon showers are common, but sometimes don't make it all the way to the ground really. Hippos in the water, tigers, pythons, anacondas, piranhas, big bugs, mosquitoes.

Villages every 10-20 miles (along the river). Mostly mud-brick huts with thatched roofs. Some larger ones have stone temples.
