Separating [[Mutenkhamen Desert]] from the [[Endless Waste]] are these barren, arid hills, pockmarked with limestone caves and dotted with chemical deposits and poisonous springs. The southern regions of dangerous hills are sparsely populated by bandit clans of various races who fight for territory and associated rights to prey upon the the occasional caravan. The northern portion, beyond a  narrow east-west strip which swells to 9000' intermittently snow-dusted limestone crags, is uninhabited by civilized creatures.
