			Parts of the region were explored during the [[Ur]] campaign. The party at the time heard legends about it, one concerning the peaceful people who once lived in the area, and another about the flesh-eating demon that preyed on the peaceful people. (The party did indeed slay a flesh-eating creature therein...)

A few hundred years ago, [[Mount Dracos]] erupted and spewed forth a tremendous lava flow, boulders, gravel, and soot. This cataclysm spread out across the [[Plains of Ur]] between the [[Steam River]] and the [[Twisted Forest]].

Today it is a surreal landscape of twisted columns, jagged rock, immense potholes, and giant boulders.

Due to its inhospitable conditions, it is scarcely inhabited, but a few malevolent creatures manage to persist therein.
