In Skyfire, a woman of the Southern Isles, evidently responsible for serving the sexual appetites of the scalawag crew of Damian Gray.

When offered the opportunity, she joined the party, and now occasionally expresses a wish to travel the world, a free woman.

Background
Adonia was born on Thronos to a fisherman and a healer. She was an active girl, a great swimmer, and had an enjoyable childhood.

As she reached adolescence, she enjoyed watching the ships, far out to sea, as sailed between Thronos and Hell Island. She would sit beneath shade palms for hours, wondering about the exotic lands of their origins - and destinations.

When she was a lithe and tan seventeen-year-old, one of the great sailing vessels approached the island, anchored in the lagoon, and men rowed boats ashore. They were tall and long-legged and wore bright colors. They had pure gold to spend on food, water, and supplies, and they shared their rum and songs with the town leaders.

On the second day of their visit, Adonia had a chance encounter with the leader of the strange men. She was carrying a basket of mangoes to the community kitchen, and the man emerged from the thatched dining shelter.

He was nearly twice her age, and the most beautiful person she had ever seen in her life. She dropped the basket, and he smiled and laughed and helped her collect the fruit.

The next two days were a whirlwind romance, and when the captain, who was called Devin Legrand, asked her to join him aboard the Green Dragon, she did not hesitate (to her parents' later astonishment and chagrin).

Thus began two years of adventure on the high seas. Because of Devin's warnings of mainland dangers, Adonia rarely left the ship, but enjoyed seeing the harbors of Zareph and Serenton, Talathese and Osiris.

Then, after four days of awaiting Devin's return to the ship from the smokey streets of Zareph, her beloved's towering right hand man, Lars Wolfsen, returned alone. Lars had always treated her with kindness and respect, and he invited her into town to rendezvous with Devin.

But something seemed off. Lars' usual boisterousness and enthusiasm was muted. His jaw was right, his voice low.

Nevertheless, she followed, and as the two navigated the crowded and harrowing streets of Zareph, Adonia thought repeatedly of Devin's warnings.

Finally, they arrived at a two story brick building with small, barred windows. A sign, decorated with exaggerated female anatomy, named the place -- The Juicy Peach

A tall, fat, bearded man emerged and, with a grin, began scrutinizing Adonia's figure. She raised her chin and tried to appear defiant, but her heart was racing and she thought she may vomit.

Lars grabbed her arm, pushed her toward the man, and departed without another word.

In the days after her imprisonment, she came to learn from other captives that Devin had traded her for a skinny, pale-skinned waif from the north.

Thus began five years of sexual slavery, managed by Fat Maloof. He was alternately capricious and kind, leaving the group of a dozen women and girls always guessing, and always fearful.

From time to time one of the slaves attempted escape. Fat Maloof would either return them beaten bloody, or terrorize the survivors with excessively gruesome tales of the escapee's demise.

Eventually, Damian Gray and his cohort availed themselves of the pleasures of The Juicy Peach, and this is when Adonia hatched her plan. These were sailing men, merchants and brigands, and Adonia prevailed upon Damian to spirit her away in the night.
